Ok I sorted the problems. 4 of my 1.05 files were corrupted ( missing about 30kb of data). I redownloaded my ARMA2 install, which now has the 1.05 as part of its coding and so far so good.
Dude you don't know half how happy this makes me to hear this. Also good to see they finally did something about it too.
And just to give you a headsup, i'm working on our very own server sync tool which will also be able to turn addons on or off by a few clicks. If users have specific feature they want added i will also have a look into those.
So far i've only done the autoupdater and you can launch the game with selected addons, no syncing yet.
For the ones willing to be early adopters and help in the development by checking bugs and proposing features here's how:
First you need to have .NET 3.5 installed on your pc. You can find it here.
After you made sure you either have .NET 3.5 installed or just installed it from the link you download Armanator and extract it to any folder you want.
Armanator should automatically detect your arma 2 folder and search for any addons already present. You will be presented with a list of addons which you can turn on by checking a checkbox.
It has an autoupdate feature so during the development process you will be very likely run into the fact that it will ask you to update. This is a completely automated process after which Armanator will be restarted.
The main testgoals for this version are:
See if Armanator finds the arma folder correctly on all pc's. See if executing arma goes according to the selected settings. Make sure Armanator detect all present addons. And offcourse test the autoupdater.
After these test are complete and possible bugs sorted out a new version will be released with more functionality.
I hope some of you are willing to help me in this process. And hopefully it will with your help evolve into a nice tool which makes arma 2 a little easier to handle.
It's been a while since we had an update on the server status, this was due to some problems we had with our hosting company. All this is now solved and the server is up and running fine again.
So are there goin to be changes? The awnser is: yes, there will be new changes.
However this time before implementing them right away we will wait untill friday when the next ACE version is updated too. The biggest change will be the switch to the new XRIP package to support all current BE editions in the new 0.59 version.
The new XRIP package can be found here. Do not add it to your mod line yet since it's not activated on the server yet.
The new 0.59 BE package will be uploaded during this week with adjusted parameters( didn't get a chance yet to fix those).
I've just started a new job so i won't be around to play much myself this week. But on friday i have a day off(queens birthday) and will deffinitly be playing myself.
Well G, that actually depends on which foldername you use. People are also able to use the sepperate islands as addons. This basically means your targetline could be anything just as long as you use the right addons.
If you use the standard install method then you are totally right. People should change @XRIPv1 to @XRIPv2. With the standard install there should also be a shortcut created which contains both ace and the new package. Simply using that shortcut should be sufficient too. This shortcut can be found in your main arma 2 folder.
